Professor Jacqueline Rose at Sydney Writers Festival
Professorial Fellow Jacqueline Rose will be heading two events at this year’s Sydney Writers Festival.
Professor Rose will be involved in a Conversation and Author Talk at the 2017 SWF. Topics will revolve around her most recent book Women in Dark Times and it’s featured women Marilyn Monroe and Rosa Luxemburg.
Jacqueline Rose is internationally known as a public intellectual for her writing on feminism, psychoanalysis, literature, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Her books include Sexuality in the Field of Vision, States of Fantasy and The Haunting of Sylvia Plath. She is also the author of Women in Dark Times. A regular writer for The London Review of Books, she is a co-founder of Independent Jewish Voices in the UK and a Fellow of the British Academy. She is professor of humanities and co-director at Birkbeck Institute for the Humanities, University of London, and since 2016 has been a professorial fellow at the Institute of Social Justice, ACU, Sydney. A book on mothers and one on violence are forthcoming.
